The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday been made aware of the massive sum which they would need to part with, in the hopes of landing Rafael Leão from AC Milan.

The name of wide-man Leão has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines across Europe over the course of the day to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Portuguese had been added to the transfer wishlist of the brass at the aforementioned Barcelona.

After coming up short in their pursuit of first-choice attacking target Nico Williams, Deco and his team of directors have been left with little choice but to look elsewhere.

And, according to Mundo Deportivo, as much has led the Blaugrana back to the doorstep of Milan.

Rossoneri talisman Leão is a long-time favourite of Barca president Joan Laporta, with MD having hinted that the 25-year-old could be secured for a fee of €90-100 million.

If ensuing word stemming from the Italian media is anything to go by, however, then Leão’s asking price, in fact, is considered to be much, much higher.

As per a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the San Siro hierarchy have no intention of depriving themselves of the club’s star winger.

Any club interested in his signature would in turn be pointed towards a sum in the region of the former Lille man’s release clause, of €175 million.
