In recent months, the Catalans have been linked with several such promising players, with the most prominent of them being Estevao Willian, who is more commonly known as Messinho, and has been playing at a very high level at Palmeiras. Similarly, two African players, Ibrahim Diarra and David Oduro have also trained with the youth ranks at Barcelona.

According to Mundo Deportivo, in addition to these players, there is another youngster in whom Barcelona have also shown their interest, i.e., Cardoso Varela, a 15-year-old winger who is already considered to be the gem of the Portuguese club Porto.

The youngster recently reached a significant milestone as he became the youngest player to debut in the UEFA Youth League, and has accumulated three appearances in the competition up to now.

Porto are still alive in the competition and are set to face AC Milan in the semi-final, and thus his tally can increase further in the coming days.

Varela is also making a name for himself internationally, as he has established himself as a regular starter in the Portugal U-17 team. With such prominence at his tender age, the youngster is attracting interest from several big European clubs.

In addition to Barcelona, other notable clubs like Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund are all keeping a close eye on his development and can put in a bid to get the forward in the coming months.
