Having signed a goalkeeper, Barcelona’s next priority this summer is to bring in a new left-winger. And with Nico Williams’ deal collapsing, Deco & co. will have to work on a new target.
At the same time, though, the Blaugrana are keeping their eyes on the market for a reinforcement at right-back.
Inter Milan and Netherlands star Denzel Dumfries, to that end, has emerged as a possible option, Financial Fair Play permitting.
However, one player who continues to be on the club’s radar since last year is UD Almeria youngster Marc Pubill.
However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan have also entered the race to sign Pubill in the ongoing transfer window.
Pubill had been on Barça’s agenda last summer as well, but the club’s FFP situation meant that the deal had to be abandoned.

However, the La Liga champions have continued to monitor the youngster in La Liga 2 and are interested again.
Reports earlier this month went as far as suggesting that Barcelona were exploring a co-ownership purchase with Real Betis for Pubill, much like the deal the two clubs had struck for Emerson Royal in the past.
However, AC Milan have also entered the fray now for the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist for Spain, who is expected to cost around €15 million.
As mentioned previously, though, the priority for Barcelona will be to rope in a winger first, especially with the Nico Williams operation falling through. Once that is sorted, the need for a right-back could be revisited.
