Barcelona hit with fresh injury blow as defender comes off early against Sevilla | OneFootball

Barcelona are currently locked in action against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjúan, where the two sides are currently drawing 1-1 in the first half.

Barcelona have been hit with a fresh injury blow however, as centre-back Ronald Araújo had to be replaced by Pau Cubarsí just after the 20-minute mark.

This is bad news fro Araújo, who has only been back in action for a couple of months since returning from a long-term injury back in December.

It originally looked like Araújo would be able to carry on, but after play resumed for a couple of minutes the Uruguayan was quickly taken off by Hansi Flick.

While the nature of his injury is still unknown, the 25-year-old was spotted clutching his ankle after being brought down by former Atlético Madrid man Saúl.

It will be worth keeping an eye on this situation in the coming days to see whether Araújo will have to spend some time on the sidelines or whether he was just taken off as a precaution.
