Last week, Barcelona put in a special performance at Parc des Princes as they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
However, they were unable to capitalise on their victory as a 1-4 defeat in the second leg at home earlier this week led to Barça being eliminated from the competition.
As Barcelona deal with the aftermath of their exit from Europe’s premier tournament, UEFA has now hit them with fresh sanctions due to the behaviour of the club’s supporters last week in Paris.
Indeed, as confirmed by UEFA, Barcelona have been hit with a fine of €32,000 in total for multiple breaches committed by their fans during last week’s match at Parc des Princes.
On Thursday, UEFA published the sanctions that the Appeals Body has ruled against FC Barcelona for the incidents in the match against PSG.
The European body has charged the Catalan club with three counts – acts of damage, setting off fireworks and racist behaviour, the details of which are as follows:
In total, UEFA fined Barça €32,000 for these three reasons and included a ban on selling tickets to its fans for the next away game in the competition, although it suspended the ban for one year on a provisional basis.
