Barcelona have had their best start to a calendar year in 81 years following win over Sevilla | OneFootball

While many fans still see Barcelona as a team in transition given their financial issues and problems in getting players registered, on the pitch they are playing some of their best football in a while.

The Catalan club is still unbeaten since the turn of the year, having last lost against Atlético on the 21st of December last year.

They have also broken a historic goalscoring record within the club. Hansi Flick’s men have scored 41 goals so far in 2025, their best scoring start since 1943, as per Opta.

Statistics like these give Barcelona fans plenty of reasons to be excited, and should they continue their current fine form, there is no reason the Catalan club can’t get a hold of some silverware this season.

Barcelona now have over a week off, so they have plenty of time to get their stars back fighting fit before they turn their attention to Rayo Vallecano on Monday the 17th of February.

Now just two points back from Real Madrid and one point back from Atlético, Culers will now perhaps be getting excited for the rest of the season.
