Barcelona forward Pau Victor appears to have made up his mind about his future. According to a report from SPORT, the 23-year-old has decided to leave the club at the end of the season in search of regular playing time, despite the Blaugrana’s openness to keeping him within their plans.
The forward’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2029, a clear indication of the club’s long-term commitment to the striker. However, the reality on the pitch has been different.
To put things in perspective, he has featured in 19 matches across all competitions this season but has started just twice, and both appearances came in relatively low-profile fixtures.
For a player of his age and ambition, another year on the fringes is simply not an option.
Interestingly, Victor occupies a unique space within the Barcelona dressing room. At 23, he is older than many of the young La Masia graduates making waves under Hansi Flick, yet he doesn’t fall into the veteran category either.

Generationally, he is somewhat caught in the middle, but his influence off the pitch has been considerable. By all accounts, Victor has integrated well with the squad, earning respect and forging bonds in a short period.
Barcelona, for their part, are open to facilitating his exit, but only under terms that allow them to retain some form of control. The club would prefer either a loan move or a sale that includes a buy-back clause or option to re-sign the player in the future.
Part of the reason for that is his low financial footprint. Victor is one of the most economical players in the current squad, and his wages comfortably fit within the club’s tight budget.
Moreover, Hansi Flick sees the striker as a useful squad option, capable of contributing when called upon, even if not a regular starter.
For now, Several La Liga clubs have already expressed interest in Victor, aware of both his potential and the value of signing a player with the Barcelona badge on his CV.
The forward, however, is keen to make the right move and not rush into a decision that could stall his progress.
