A regular in the first-team setup at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Sunday come in for heavy criticism on the part of fans, the media and more.

This comes owing to his endeavours in Barca Atlètic’s latest outing.

The Blaugrana’s struggling reserve outfit marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to the Basque Country for a league meeting with Amorebieta.

And, late in the action at The Campo Municipal de Urritxe, the visitors looked well on their way to a much-needed three points, owing to a solitary strike on the part of Iván Cédric.

As proceedings entered the closing moments, however, disaster struck for Barca Atlètic.

Owing to some altogether lax defending, Amorebieta were allowed to not only level things up, but bag a last-gasp 2nd to secure all three points.

Expected to act as a leader at the back for Albert Sánchez’s troops, Sergi Domínguez, in particular, has been torn to shreds by the Barca faithful.

A regular contributor in Hansi Flick’s senior Blaugrana ranks, the 19-year-old has been directly singled out for blame for both of Amorebieta’s goals.

A lack of awareness and questionable positional sense have been highlighted as two particular shortcomings on Domínguez’s part, concerning developments for a player tipped by many as a potential star in the making at the Camp Nou.
