As reported last night, Barcelona have decided to go after the signing of RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo in the summer transfer window.

The Blaugrana see the 25-year-old ace as a good fit for the role on the left flank while his ability to play in a multitude of positions is also appreciated.

As such, Barcelona have made it a point to go after his signing with the operation to sign him already underway.

Barcelona battle Man United and Bayern Munich in race for Olmo

However, Barcelona are not alone in the race to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig as two other big teams from Europe are vying for his services.

Indeed, as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will have to battle it out with Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race for the Spanish international.

There had been talk of Manchester City also being interested in Olmo, but it is United that have shown a much keener interest in the former La Masia trainee.

Bayern Munich, who are known to pick off top players from rival Bundesliga teams, have also set their sights on Olmo, after having lost the league title to Bayer Leverkusen this season.

€60 million release clause

As has already been reported on multiple occasions, Olmo has a release clause worth €60 million in his contract with RB Leipzig, which runs until 2027.

The clause will be active in the summer and the Bundesliga giants are unlikely to offer any discounts on that sum.

As such Barcelona must find ways to match that value if they are indeed serious about signing the former La Masia man in the summer.
