Jan Virgili’s future has been a subject of great discussion in recent days, with the youngster being strongly linked with a move away from Catalonia.

The relationship between Virgili and the club has waned greatly recently, with Real Mallorca emerging as one of the potential suitors.

Barcelona have been in talks with Mallorca over the sale of Virgili, though the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.

Barcelona want €4 million for Virgili

According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona are looking for a fee of around €4 million for the sale of Jan Virgili this summer.

The Catalans are ready to sell 50% of Virgili’s transfer rights for €4 million, whereas Mallorca are only willing to offer up to €2 million.

While the three parties do agree that Barcelona can sell Virgili’s 50% transfer rights, they are yet to reach an agreement over the final price.

The report adds that a loan move could be an option for the youngster, who is regarded as one of the most talented up-and-coming stars at La Masia.

Barcelona, though, would ideally like to sell Virgili on a permanent deal and retain certain clauses that will allow them to retain control of the player’s future.

Virgili, for his part, might be open to joining Mallorca, knowing he may have an opportunity to prove his quality at the highest level of football.

If the move goes through, Virgili will be following the footsteps of Pablo Torre, who had already joined Mallorca earlier this summer.

As mentioned earlier, Barcelona will employ a similar strategy to the Torre deal, hoping that both him and Virgili make a breakthrough in La Liga next season.
