Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna is reporting that Barcelona are delaying Ousmane Dembélé’s (26) move to Paris Saint-Germain amidst an attempt to sell the France international to Saudi Arabia.

PSG triggered Dembélé’s €50m release clause earlier this week, and were hoping to have the deal concluded by Monday. The player himself already has an agreement in place with Les Parisiens. However, Barcelona are attempting to buy themselves some time in order to garner a higher fee for their attacker.

As reported by Aouna, PSG have sent a letter to Barcelona in order to organise Dembélé’s medical. However, the Catalan club are yet to respond. The delay comes amidst an offer from Al-Hilal, who are offering Dembélé €100m per year plus a €50m commission. The Saudi club are also offering a higher fee, although the value of this bid is not yet known.

However, Dembélé is only interested in a move to PSG, meaning that despite Barcelona’s best attempts, the Frenchman’s move to the Ligue 1 champions is only a matter of time.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins has confirmed that Dembélé has been called into training at Barcelona this Sunday, adding that the La Liga side are delaying sending over relevant documentation. Like Aouna, Hawkins confirms that Dembélé’s move to PSG is not in doubt.
