Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has been recorded criticising former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos as he sought a place in Spain's Olympics squad.
Pique took aim at the current PSG defender Ramos over the course of recorded conversations with RFEF president Luis Rubiales.
El Mundo reported that Pique had heard about Ramos' desire to play at the Olympics, and he then asked Rubiales if he knew about it.
"It's the first I've heard about it," Rubiales responded.
"No idea. [Ramos'] words have stunned me.
"I was with him. I don't believe that it is true."
However, two days later, Rubiales wrote to Pique to tell him that he thought the news was in fact true.
"Geri, the thing you told me about Sergio, I think it is true because they told me that he wants to speak to me," he said.
Pique responded by slamming Ramos for leaking the news of his desire to play in the press before speaking to Rubiales.
"Leaking it first to put pressure is very much his style," Pique replied.
