Barcelona confirm injury to Franck Kessié

Barcelona have confirmed the details surrounding the injury midfielder Franck Kessié suffered in the Champions League win over Viktoria Plzeň on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old had to be withdrawn in the 67th minute of the 4-2 victory through injury with fears post-match expressed about his availability before the World Cup.

And now the club have revealed that the Ivorian midfielder has suffered ‘an injury to the femoral biceps of the left thigh.’

No timescale has been put on Kessié’s return but he is expected to be a doubt for the games against Almería and Osasuna.

Kessié has made 13 appearances and scored one goal since his free transfer move to the Catalans from Milan in the summer.
