There were not a lot of changes in the FC Barcelona squad in the last winter transfer window, but the Blaugrana Sporting Department still had a lot of work to do in that phase.

For instance, they had to deal with the tricky subject of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s registration, and they also renewed several of their key players, ensuring their long-term stay at the club, including Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Gavi.

In this regard, the Catalans were helped significantly by their return to the 1:1 status, which they achieved at the start of this new year, after having worked for it for a number of years.

However, there is still a possibility of their work being undone as La Liga is once again considering changing their economic control regulations, i.e., the financial fair play rules, and there is a possibility that Barcelona can once again get away from the 1:1 status in the coming summer.

Keeping in view such a possibility, SPORT reports that the Blaugranes are already working to ensure they avoid problems that will result from such a change in the future by addressing their most serious operations as soon as possible.

However, one operation that can get quite complicated in such a situation will be that of the renewal of the brightest star in their team, i.e., Lamine Yamal. Work on this operation will begin in the coming few weeks, however, it needs to be kept in mind that this renewal could not be finalized before mid-July when the young winger will turn 18 years of age.

Thus, Barcelona are hoping that their economic conditions at that time will allow them to renew their most prized asset.

In addition to this, they will also be hoping that their FFP status and their economic conditions will allow them to operate normally in the market, and bring some much-needed reinforcements for Hansi Flick.
