According to reports from Gerard Romero, there is optimism in Barcelona over the approval of the economic feasibility plan. A green from La Liga is necessary so that the Catalan club can complete its player operations.

“I don’t know if they will sign Messi or which player. In order to sign players, other players must leave. Barça work and we supervise. This is our function.

“Soon there will be an answer to their viability plan. They are aware of everything,” said League president Javier Tebas earlier in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

A meeting held yesterday between Tebas and Barcelona president Joan Laporta concerning the burning topic ended with good sensations between the two parties.

There will be another meeting held on Monday where a final verdict on its approval will be taken by La Liga. The official confirmation will subsequently be made later in the week, and Catalan outlet SPORT reveal that it could arrive as early as Tuesday.

Barcelona are currently in an ordeal against time to get the nod from La Liga. Lionel Messi has given the Blaugranas ten days to come up with a concrete offer if they want to sign him, but the club has their hands tied until the league permits them to proceed.

The club’s prime target has been distancing away from a return in recent days. Inter Miami and Al-Hilal are seen as his most likely destinations if not Catalonia, although it is the MLS side who appear to have the upper hand at the moment.

The coming days will be crucial for Barcelona’s pursuit of re-signing their captain. Earlier this week, Xavi Hernandez spoke in detail about the dream signing and revealed that the Argentine would make a final decision on his future in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Azulgranas also have other operations placed on hold until the green light from La Liga arrives. The registration of Gavi and Ronald Araujo’s new contracts is one such objective which will be completed within days of the confirmation.

One can also expect official bids for Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez to be made soon after.
