Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona are all competing for the signature of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.

The Red Devils have strengthened in attack with the signing of Joshua Zirkzee last month but could still possibly need a winger with Jadon Sancho’s future up in the air.

United have long been linked to Italian wide man Chiesa and they have been sporadically linked to him all summer.

It was reported earlier in the window that the Old Lady may try and use Chiesa as bait for the Old Trafford side to land their own target, Sancho.

Juventus were seemingly out of the race for the Englishman but recent reports suggest that they may be back in the market for the England international as the window draws to a close.

Spanish outlet Sport affirms that there could be something of a bidding war brewing between three different clubs for the 26 year old’s services.

“In the last few days, Chiesa has received offers from Manchester United and Chelsea as the two English teams wanted him to join them.”

Nonetheless according to the newspaper, Chiesa has yet to be totally convinced by either project as he “still did not reach an agreement with either team in the hope of studying more proposals in the future.” What’s more, “he is very attracted to the Spanish League”.

It is also noted that he was on Barcelona’s table last summer but they could not enter transfer discussions due to the economic difficulties they were suffering. Despite the interest from England, Sport boldly state that “Barça will be the priority for the Italian”.

The Red Devils are currently focusing their energy on a defensive midfielder and are locked in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over Manuel Ugarte.

They are discussing a loan plus obligation fee and have reportedly walked away from pursuing a left back this summer, so it is unclear how much cash United have to spend for the remainder of the summer.

Nonetheless, if Sancho were to leave, which still remains a major possibility, Erik ten Hag’s side could still look to strengthen out wide and Chiesa could still be very much on the agenda.
