The Bayern Munich defense had a forgettable last night as FC Barcelona scored four goals past them to get a 4-1 win in a crunch UEFA Champions League tie.

The veteran goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, was particularly shambolic, while the defenders Dayot Upamecano and Raphaël Guerreiro also left a lot to be desired in their performances.

However, the Canadian fullback Alphonso Davies was still able to salvage some dignity with his tackles and attacking runs, and once again provided some glimpses of what he can offer, even when things are not exactly going in his favor.

The Bayern Munich star still remains one of the most highly-rated fullbacks in Europe, and Barcelona have been among the clubs who have reportedly liked him for some time now, especially as his contract with Bayern ends at the end of this season, and he can be obtained for free next summer.

However, despite their admiration, Barcelona will find it very difficult to be able to sign the Canadian fullback. This is particularly the case as SPORT has reported some of the demands that the defender is asking to sign for any team.

The Spanish publication cites the German outlet Bild to claim that the Bayern Munich fullback is not only demanding a top contract but also a signing bonus of €15 million to sign for any club, including Bayern Munich. Clubs who are interested in him already know of this condition.

As things stand, the Bavarians have asked Davies to lower his demands, but an agreement between these two parties seems highly unlikely.

Real Madrid have been closely linked with him in recent months, but for now, they are looking to strengthen other positions in their squad, particularly that of center-back and right-back.

Manchester United is another club that can afford the Canadian, but their sporting project is not too attractive for him.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are closely observing the situation and have yet to decide whether they should make a formal bid. Both Flick and Deco like the player a lot, and their sporting project might also appeal to the defender, but they will have to make a great economic sacrifice to be able to sign him.
