Barcelona will be looking forward to a productive summer as they enter the transfer market with the intention of reinforcing a few problematic positions on the pitch, such as defensive midfield and left-wing.

The Catalans will need to sell before trying to buy replacements, though, which will be quite a task considering that the players that are ready to leave are not worth all that much, and the players Barça are ready to listen offers for are not interested in leaving.

The likes of Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, and probably even Jules Kounde belong to that latter shortlist. The Frenchman, especially, will have a lot of suitors, with Premier League teams circling him before his Barcelona move.

One such team could be in for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Red Devils weighing up Kounde move

According to a report by Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are preparing a list of shortlist of players who can replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the starting right-back at the club.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is very high on this list, but they will have to battle with Real Madrid and possibly other teams for his signature when the time comes.

Another player they are considering is Barcelona’s Jules Kounde. United appreciate his versatility to play as a right-back and centre-back both, even though the player clearly prefers the latter.

PSG have also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, alongside Gavi and 17-year-old Hector Fort.

Barcelona and Kounde’s stance

If previous reports are to be believed, Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for Kounde and Christensen, and could sell one of the two depending on what kind of bids arrive on the table.

However, it seems Kounde is more than happy in the Catalan capital, and is not willing to move away this summer, even if that means continuing as the starting right-back of the team for another season.

As the summer transfer window edges closer, though, there is a high chance that his position could change.

And as far as Barcelona are concerned, they might just retain his services if he continues to play as a right-back without too much fuss.
