At last, Barcelona fans. At last.
A curse has been lifted at the club in their post-Lionel Messi era during Saturday’s LaLiga clash with Real Betis.
Since the departure of their best-ever player, the Spanish champions had failed to score from a direct free kick.
But that has now been put in the past as Ferran Torres stepped up, curled the ball around the wall and found the net.
It is the Blaugrana’s first goal from a direct free kick since May 2021, when Messi scored against Valencia.
That’s a wait of 867 days after 41 attempts. Relief.
