Bahia host pre-season training camp at CFA | OneFootball

CFG sister club, Bahia, are to hold a pre-season training camp at the City Football Academy in preparation for their 2024 Brazilian Serie A campaign.

Rogerio Ceni’s side secured survival on a dramatic final day of the Brazilian top flight thanks to a 4-1 win over Atletico Mineiro on the final day in December 2023.

But attentions now turn to what the team can achieve in the new campaign, which gets under way in April, with Bahia taking advantage of their CFG group status to use Manchester City’s training facilities between Tuesday 9 and Sunday 21 January.

It also provides an opportunity to reinforce the close relationship between Bahia and City, with the players operating on the same campus as our Men’s, Women’s, EDS, Under-18s and various academy sides.

Away from the pitch, Bahia head coach and former Brazil goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni will also host a press confernece on Friday 12 January to preview the new campaign, soon after Pep Guardiola has faced the media ahead of City’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Bahia became the 13th and most recent addition to our global footballing network in May 2023.

In celebration of their inclusion, the Brazilian side joined City in hosting the hugely successful ‘O dia da Bahia’ at the Etihad Stadium ahead of our Premier League fixture with Fulham in September.

This included live pre-match performances from legendary Brazilian artist Carlinhos Brown, as well as A Dama and O Maestro.
