Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that Abdallah Sima will miss the trip to St Mirren, likely along with Rabbi Matondo, but that he hopes Ridvan Yilmaz and Ryan Jack will return to training next week.

Speaking to the press before the visit to Paisley, Rangers’ boss admitted Sima’s injury isn’t the best, and he only ‘hopes’ to see him play again for Rangers this season, in what has ended up being a horrendous second half of the campaign for the Senegalese with his missing almost all of it.

We’d personally write him off now, and we wouldn’t sign him, sorry.

As for Matondo, he received a blow against Hearts, a nasty tackle, and has been unable to shake that off, so is only very slim for his chances of featuring against the Buddies.

Meanwhile Ridvan finally returns to training, maybe, next week, but we wouldn’t put too much weight in those claims really, Clement has got a tonne wrong with predicting players’ injuries and returns and we don’t really trust him with his comments.

Jack? We’re not sure he even matters at this point, sadly.

So that’s definitely:

Sima, Ridvan, Danilo, Jack out for sure v St Mirren, with Matondo 90% likely to miss it.

The good news is no new injuries aside Matondo so the squad is mostly fit in general. The bad news? It’s still either Barisic or Sterling at LB, which we simply cannot stand.

We really need Ridvan back, but we’d be loathe to put a date on it. Wouldn’t be shocked if he misses the rest of the campaign unfortunately.

And that’s the latest.
