Mason Greenwood wants Manchester United to change their bad habit of going behind

According to Express, Mason Greenwood wants Manchester United to change their ‘bad habit’ of going behind in games. Greenwood was one of the architects on another comeback as Manchester United secured another win despite going down to an early goal from Aston Villa.

At this point, it almost feels business as usual when Manchester United go down by a goal in a game. Manchester United turn on their mojo when that happens, which pretty much leaves the opposition baffled.

United have fallen behind 11 times this season in the Premier League and they have won 10 of those, drawing the other.

Aston Villa were not immune to it either, as they led through a Bertrand Traore goal, only for Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani to turn the game on its head in the second half. It was a stellar display as United looked much more clinical in the second half.

Among the goals now, Mason Greenwood spoke about how United find themselves in a bad habit of conceding goals that put them behind.

“We’ve got a little bit of a bad habit. It’s not so bad if we come and get the three points; it’s just a wake up call when they score. We know we can come back second half and get the three points. We need to work on it and not give little goals away in the first half so we don’t have to come back from behind.We were always confident that we’d get the three points. That first goal was good play from Paul to get the penalty. We always knew Bruno would put it in the back of the net. It was a confidence booster. From there, we looked comfortable and got the three points.”

While it’s good to see United coming back from losing positions, they need to solve this problem. We shouldn’t concede those goals from errors that put pressure on the whole team. Getting ahead of this issue could be a huge difference next season.
