Aymeric Laporte in Spain awaiting the announcement of his La Liga return | OneFootball

Spanish international Aymeric Laporte has travelled back to his home country, whilst patiently awaiting the announcement of his return to Athletic Club being made official.

Stopper Laporte has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in Bilbao for several weeks now.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Athletic had kickstarted talks with Saudi outfit Al-Nassr, over a deal for the club’s one-time defensive stalwart.

On transfer deadline day, widespread confirmation then arrived that a definitive agreement had been struck between the parties.

As of yet, no official announcement has arrived on the part of Athletic Club themselves. But Laporte is evidently confident that as much will come to the fore before long.

This comes with transfer insider Matteo Moretto having reported on Tuesday that:

‘Aymeric Laporte is already in Bilbao awaiting the officialization of his signing.’

Laporte for his part previously spent eight years on the books at San Mamés, before departing for Manchester City back in 2018.
