Our aim is to take the UNIQA ÖFB Cup back to Salzburg at the end of the season! The third step in this mission takes us to TSV Hartberg. We are away on Wednesday 1 November at 18:00 CET - and expecting a tough clash.
We could have certainly had an easier draw than the side our Mamadou Sangare is currently on loan to. Hartberg have been happily battling their way to points in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga and are in a solid fifth position currently - making for the best start to the season in club history. Donis Avdijaj & Co showed last weekend with a 4-0 win at SC Austria Lustenau just how strong they are.
The hosts have not had an easy path into the last 16. Markus Schopp's side took a narrow 3-2 win over regional league side Favoritner AC in the first round, and in the second round posted a 1-0 success against FC Admira - relegated from the Bundesliga last season - in extra time. A win is a win though, especially in the cup.
On the subject of wins. Our biggest victory of the season so far came at the Profertil Arena, with a 5-1 success in the fourth matchday of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. Hopefully that is a good omen ahead of our trip.
Fans who can't make it to support us there can watch the match on ORF in Austria or follow live updates on our website.
We can expect a difficult match. We have the chance to take the next step, however. It will come down to having the right attitude and mindset on the day. If we show our true face, it will be difficult for Hartberg against us. They are in great form right now, and we know we are facing strong opponents on Wednesday who are doing well in the league.

It will come down to being focused, playing our own game and being at it right from the start. We know cup matches have their own character. We all need to be completely focused. Hartberg have a hungry team, so we have to be extremely careful. I am feeling good and am enjoying being back on the pitch.
