Marko Arnautovic remains an all-important linchpin in the dressing room, but Inter Milan could still sell their veteran this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the Austria international could leave Giuseppe Meazza in the coming days.
But that’s if someone were to approach Inter with a ‘serious’ offer.
Despite his limited playing time, Arnautovic is hellbent on staying with Simone Inzaghi’s charges.
He returned to the club from Bologna last summer to play second fiddle to Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
While he wasn’t a permanent first-team fixture in 2023/24, he has become a prominent figure in the locker room.
As a close friend to Hakan Calhanoglu and Thuram, Arnautovic has emerged as an influential face behind the scenes.
Therefore, Inter haven’t put him up for sale, in contrast to earlier reports.
Yet, that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t sell the 35-year-old if the price is right.
Simone Inzaghi remains in the market for one last attacking signing.
With that in mind, Inter are still vigilant to market opportunities, especially regarding outgoing deals.
There’s a chance the ex-Bologna center-forward could go separate ways with Inter down the final stretch of the transfer window.
However, he’s in a far better position than Martin Satriano and Joaquin Correa.
Unlike Arnautovic, there’s no room in Inzaghi’s project for the unsettled duo.
Inter hope to cash in on both, especially the latter, considering his contract at Meazza runs out next summer.
Satriano could soon return to Ligue 1 despite turning down Brest’s approach.
Olympique Marseille are after the Uruguayan youngster.
Correa spent last season on loan at the Stade Velodrome, only to deliver another underwhelming campaign.
As a result, his skills are no longer in high demand.
Genoa seem to be his best chance of securing regular first-team football in Europe’s top-five divisions.
