Austin FC have parted ways with head coach Josh Wolff, the club announced Sunday morning.
The Texas outfit have officially failed to qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs for the second straight season after being mathematically eliminated Saturday evening.
Wolff, the club's first ever head coach after joining MLS for the 2021 season, lead Los Verdes to a conference final in 2022 but has failed to replicate that success in the years since.
“As the first manager in Club history, we would like to extend our gratitude for Josh’s role in the growth and development of our Club," said Austin owner and CEO Precourt. "It will always be appreciated."
"After back-to-back seasons without playoff qualification, we realize that a fresh start is required next season under the leadership of a new head coach.”
A yet unnamed interim manager will serve as head coach for Austin's final 2024 regular season match against Colorado on October 19 and will be 'named in in due course'.
