Chelsea’s interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is no more a secret. But while Xavi wants the Gabon forward to continue, it’s been noted that his departure would benefit Barcelona in the long run.

As reported by trusted journalist Gerard Romero, if Barcelona somehow manage to coup in excess of €25 million for the forward, they will be able to register Jules Kounde before the next La Liga game which is against Real Sociedad at Estadio Anoeta.

Following the activation of the fourth financial lever, Barcelona managed to register six of the seven unregistered players in Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto.

Jules Kounde was left out as the team still fell some €20-30 million short of achieving the desired balance. Hence, the only option Barcelona have at the moment is to either lower their current wage bill or go about selling some high earners.

With Frenkie de Jong’s situation stuck, Barcelona are said to be open to selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea.

Now, it’s understood that Chelsea and Barcelona enjoy a great working relationship, and now that Marcos Alonso is set to arrive from Stamford Bridge, the Premier League side is hoping to strike a deal for Aubameyang.

As reported before, Chelsea’s first attempt to sign the striker was way off of Barcelona’s valuation. The Blues showed up with a bid of €14 million, which was rejected right away as Barcelona continue to stand still on their valuation of €25 million for the player.

Neither Barcelona nor the forward has any problem in parting ways as both agree to the fact that managing this many attacking personnel will be an issue. In any way, with Lewandowski arriving, Aubameyang’s game time is certain to take a hit.

At Chelsea, however, the situation will be different as they do not really have a pure number 9 at their disposal, which is partly why the player feels this move can work for everyone involved.
