The last couple of days have seen a resurfacing of rumours about Hungarian defender Attila Szalai joining Chelsea.

The last few days saw them return with a bang however, as his national team manager said that he thought his player was indeed making the move.

But now Matt Law, who covers Chelsea for the Daily Telegraph, has really shut the whole thing down again by saying that he’s not even currently “a player of interest to Chelsea.”

That’s what we suspected – it seems more than anything like his national team manager read the same rumours we all saw. Law has contacts at the club , and if they shut the deal down this firmly, we are happy to assume it’s not happening.
