Interestingly, Wahi has agreed personal terms with Chelsea over a move this summer. The Blues want to sign him and loan him to sister club Strasbourg. BlueCo owns both Chelsea and Strasbourg.

However, Chelsea have not made a written proposal to Montpellier. They have only been discussing with the player to convince him about the move.

Meanwhile, Los Rojiblancos have started speaking to Montpellier directly as they look to sign the striker. They could agree on personal terms with the player when they have agreed a fee with the Ligue 1 side.

Atletico Madrid are in the market for a centre-forward as they are losing two of theirs this summer.

Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have permanently signed Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid for £44 million after his loan spell in England.

Also, Atletico Madrid could lose Alvaro Morata, who is closing in on a return to Italy, where he has many admirers. Inter Milan are close to agreeing a deal to sign Morata.

Atletico Madrid have turned to Wahi, who bagged 19 goals and five assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances as Montpellier finished 12th on the Ligue 1 log.

The young striker has developed steadily over the past three seasons and is blossoming into a notable talent. His goal tally has increased, and he continues to finetune the rough edges of his game.

Wahi has to decide between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea ahead of next season.

Another season in France may do him some good before a move to England with Chelsea. However, he can get lost in the club’s loan maze.

Atletico Madrid is also an exciting destination for the young striker.

Despite manager Diego Simeone’s reputation as a defensive manager, he has helped centre-forwards like Radamel Falcao, Diego Costa, Antoine Griezmann, Mario Mandzukic, Luis Suarez, and David Villa flourish.
