Atletico Madrid are projected to have a very busy summer transfer window, and one area they are targeting with improvements is in the striker department. Antoine Griezmann and Angel Correa are believed to be nailed on as options for next season, with at least one big name is desired by Diego Simeone in addition.

Artem Dovbyk has been heavily linked, and alongside Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, he is believed to be Atleti’s top target. However, they are currently unable to pay Girona’s asking price, which is the Ukrainian’s €40m release clause, although that could change in the coming weeks.

According to Relevo, Atleti are open to offers above €40m for Samu Omorodion, who has attracted Premier League interest in recent months. A deal would allow the funds to be immediately used on Dovbyk.

Samu had a very promising first season in La Liga, scoring nine goals (one for Granada, eight for Alaves). Atletico Madrid value him very highly, although they are prepared to move him on if it means that money can be raised for their top attacking target(s). It remains to be seen whether any sufficient offers arrive.
