Atletico Madrid have rejected Arsenal's latest offer for Thomas Partey, which included Matteo Guendouzi.
The Gunners are willing to let Guendouzi leave the club this summer after he fell out with manager Mikel Arteta.
Ghana international Partey is Arteta's primary transfer target and Arsenal have offered Atleti the chance to sign Guendouzi along with €25m.
Get French Football News says the La Liga club have rejected the deal and insist they want Partey's release clause of €50m to be paid in full.
This is an unrealistic target for Arsenal, who like most clubs are struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Guendouzi, 21, would prefer a move to Barcelona but would not rule out the chance to sign with Diego Simeone's side.
The North London club could instead look to sell the former Lorient man to Barca and use the profits to meet Partey's release clause.
