Atlético Madrid are interested in signing Feyenoord’s Mexican striker Santiago Giménez, according to Voetbal International. The 22-year-old scored 23 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last campaign, in what was his debut season in the Netherlands. The former Cruz Azul forward now has the eyes of Atlético Madrid on him.
The Mexican international is being closely watched by Atlético according to his agent Morris Pagniello. ‘It is true that Atlético are interested. I think it could be one of the best options,’ the Italian told Mundo Deportivo. Pagniello shared the names of other clubs interested in the striker. ‘More clubs have inquired about him, including Napoli, Inter and clubs from the Premier League.’
Santiago Giménez scored 15 goals in 32 Eredivisie appearances as Feyenoord went on to lift the title. His impressive aerial presence and ability to score with both feet make him a desirable talent for any top club. It’ll certainly be hard for Feyenoord to keep him this summer.
