Atlético Madrid draw up plan B should Mario Hermoso fail to join

Atlético Madrid have two options in mind should they fail in their pursuit of Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso.

The Catalan club are sticking to their valuation of €40m for the defender but Atleti are refusing to pay such an amount due to the fact that Hermoso only has one year left on his contract.

As such, Marca report that Diego Simeone has two more candidates on his list to come in and replace the outgoing Diego Godin.

They say that Ajax’s Daley Blind and Manchester City star Nicolas Otamendi are both being considered, with the pair likely to cost a lot less than the €40m being quoted for Hermoso.
