With Juventus opting against making his loan deal permanent, Leandro Paredes has returned to Paris Saint-Germain this summer – although the World Cup winner, whose contract expires at the end of next season, could soon be packing his bags again.
According to today’s L’Équipe, several teams from around Europe and beyond are considering a move for the midfielder – namely Atlético Madrid, Lazio and Galatasaray. An unnamed Premier League club as well as a Saudi Arabian outfit have also enquired about a potential transfer, although no concrete offers have been made for the time being.
In a campaign marred by injury, the 29-year-old will have managed just 14 starts in Turin – although his 25 league appearances are a better return than any of his four seasons in the French capital. Luis Enrique’s arrival as the club’s new head coach is unlikely to change Paredes’ peripheral role, not least in the wake of the recent departures of his compatriots in Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María.
