Renato Ibarra left América in summer 2020 to join Atlas on loan, desperately seeking any opportunity in football.
After a very unimpressive first season with the Guadalajara club, it was beginning to be believed that the Colombian would return to América, although not to stay since the board does not want him back.
However, a couple of months before the end of his loan, Atlas is currently seriously thinking about acquiring the player on a permanent basis, according to TUDN.
Ibarra has improved considerably this season and has contributed a pair of goals in 11 games, featuring in 65% of total minutes this season.
It will simply come down to the two parties agreeing on a price in order to get the deal done.
