Chelsea’s move to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde is in the balance as Sevilla look to have priced them out of a move.
That is according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, who has written his latest report on the deal this morning.
Now, the deal has been halted unless Sevilla drop their asking price for the young defender.
Thomas Tuchel has been talking about his potential arrival with members of the senior squad, says The Athletic, so he expected it to be done.

But in a dramatic turn of events, Chelsea have decided to stop their pursuit because Sevilla suddenly increased the asking price. They had a verbal agreement already in place over the fee, but Atletico are now asking for £12.8 million more than was originally discussed.
The deal is not dead, but from Chelsea’s side unless Sevilla drop the demands, they will not be signing Kounde this window and will wait until January to address the situation again.
