This Aston Villa kit launch has confused us somewhat.

The Midlands club have launched their new third strip for the season and itā€™s a lovely mixture of purple and pink. It looks really smart and has been designed by Brum-based designer (and now kit manufacturer) Luke 1977.

Thereā€™s just one thing though, itā€™s virtually the same colour and shade as the claret and blue they wear at home. Are we missing something here?

Itā€™s a really nice shirt, though while the objective of a kit is to represent the club and to look good, the third strip is meant to be different to the home and away shirt ā€“ itā€™s sort of the point.

Anyway, weā€™ll give this a high mark for appearance but for practicality? Zero out of ten.
