Aston Villa’s chances of signing Villarreal pair Yeremy Pino and Pau Torres have been labelled ‘not easy’ by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Midlands outfit’s new manager Unai Emery is reportedly keen to be reunited with the pair after utilising them throughout his time in charge of the Yellow Submarine.

What is the latest news involving Villa?

Pino is believed to have an €80 million (£69.3m) release clause written into his Villarreal contract, yet Romano claimed back in August that he could be available for a significantly reduced fee.

The transfer expert stated that the La Liga outfit ‘would like more than €50m (£43.3m) for their young star’ and that it ‘will not be an easy negotiation’ for any interested party.

Spanish sources have since credited Villa with an interest in Pino due to Emery’s appointment, while Torres is another player reportedly on their radar.

Football Insider have claimed that the Villans are keeping close tabs on the Spain international ahead of a potential move after he was linked with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham last summer.

What has Romano said about Pino and Torres?

Romano has disclosed that signing either player will prove to be a difficult take for Villa, though, as neither of them will be allowed to depart Villarreal on the cheap.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “It’s50 million (£43.3m).

“Pau Torres has a release clause around 45 million (£39m), so it’s not going to be easy.”

Would Pino and Torres be good signings?

Pino enjoyed a breakout campaign for Villarreal last term, registering seven goals and four assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

The skilful winger has struggled to match those heights this time around, though, racking up just two goal contributions in 19 outings, yet his top-class potential is still clear for all to see.

Which club did Dean Saunders start his professional career at?

Swansea City Cardiff City Wrexham Newport County

Meanwhile, Torres, a left-sided centre-back, has continued to put in a string of eye-catching displays for Villarreal in the current campaign.

As per FBref, the 6 foot 3 ace has ranked in the 95th percentile for completed dribbles, 89th for progressive passes, and 83rd for shot-creating actions amongst his positional peers over the last year.

If Emery manages to bring either player to Villa, then they would surely be viewed as significant coups given their ability and potential to improve even further.
