In a recent report, Sabah (via Sport Witness) revealed that Aston Villa have identified Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz as a target for the summer transfer window. It has been stated that the Villans are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Turkish wide player later this year.
Yilmaz is having a decent campaign at the Turkish club as he has been responsible for putting in a handful of eye-catching performances for them in the opposition half. The Turkish sensation has banged in six goals and grabbed nine assists in 49 appearances for Galatasaray this season in various competitions.
The 23-year-old has been a consistent performer in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 1.3 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball after making 75.7% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Turkish football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Turkish club will run out in the summer of 2027, so Aston Villa would have to launch a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Yilmaz in the upcoming transfer window.

Yilmaz is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball purely and with power from long range.
Furthermore, the Turkish sensation has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates up top. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if the Villans can get him on board this summer.
Yilmaz would bring more firepower to Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Villa Park in the future. At 23, Yilmaz has got his best years ahead of him and could be a welcome addition to the Villans‘ match-day squad when the summer transfer window commences at the end of this season.
