Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking at two players to back up Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes. However, the target to play behind the Morocco international apparently slipped through the Parisians’ hands.

This summer transfer window, the reigning Ligue 1 champions were linked to Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruid. Moreover, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Aston Villa has now joined the chase, aiming to strengthen their defense by targeting Geertruida for the 2024-25 season.

Journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin also confirmed this week with his reporting that PSG want Geertruid to add depth to their right-back position. Nonetheless, the reigning Ligue 1 will have to look at other defenders to bolster the depth.

Collet-Gaudin provided a follow-up report on this file and revealed that Geertruida is heading toward joining Aston Villa. PSG was interested in the Dutchman but was late on the file.

Last season, Geertruida scored eight goals and recorded five assists in the Eredivisie and will now attempt to adapt to playing in the Premier League while also helping Aston Villa in their 2024-25 UEFA Champions League campaign.
