Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham admitted that he "lost his smile" after EURO 2024, where he "felt a bit like the scapegoat" in England colours.

Bellingham scored twice as England reached the final, including a late winner against Slovakia in the round of 16 to help the Three Lions into the next round.

"I felt like I was a little bit mistreated in comparison to what I contributed", he added, branding some of the criticism aimed at him "harsh".

However, the most recent camp "brought out the joy" in playing for England again, while he was quick to point out that he never lost his smile whilst playing for Los Blancos.
