After being substituted off against Liverpool on Saturday, Aston Villa have confirmed Trézéguet has suffered a serious knee injury.
Due to the severity, the club confirmed Monday evening that the midfielder will undergo surgery.

“The Egypt international winger suffered knee ligament damage” and “will now have an operation before starting his rehabilitation,” read the statement.
Having made 22 appearances for Villa this season, the loss of Trézéguet is a massive one for Dean Smith’s side.
