Marco Asensio’s future at PSG remains uncertain after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. The Spaniard impressed in the Premier League, but Villa initially passed on making the move permanent.
That appears to be changing. According to a recent report from CaughtOffside, Villa is now preparing a bid of up to €15 million to sign Asensio on a full-time basis.
Manager Unai Emery has been advocating for his return, believing the 28-year-old can bring creativity, experience, and added quality to the attack. Villa’s interest has also grown following Jacob Ramsey’s £40 million transfer to Newcastle United, which freed up both funds and a spot in the squad to make the move possible.

According to L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi, PSG and Aston Villa are close to finalizing a deal for Marco Asensio. The English club has offered €15 million, slightly below PSG’s asking price of €20 million, but both sides are optimistic that an agreement will be reached soon.

Mick Brown, formerly chief scout for Manchester United and Sunderland, told Football Insider that talks with PSG have already taken place. He also expects a deal will be reached, with the Spaniard set to return to the Premier League club.
“I expect Asensio will return to Aston Villa,” Brown told Football Insider. “There’s been a lot of talk about losing key players and who could potentially leave, but the manager still wants to strengthen his squad. From what I’m told, they’ve had talks with PSG about bringing him back. They’d spoken about another loan, but it seems a cheaper deal might be possible.
“PSG want to sell, so this late in the window it gives the opportunity for Villa to move in. In the framework of their team last season, with Rashford in the team, he performed brilliantly and helped to facilitate his place in the side. The concern was that he might not have the legs any more to play week in, week out.”
