In a recent column, transfer insider Dean Jones claimed that Aston Villa are locked in a three-way battle for Luton Town ace Gabriel Osho. It has been stated that the Villans are facing competition in the form of Fulham and Crystal Palace in the race to land the English talent.
Osho is having a solid season at Luton as he has managed to put in a series of dominant displays at the heart of their defence. The English defender has scored two goals in 15 matches for the English outfit during this campaign across multiple competitions.
The 25-year-old has been a decent performer when defending inside his half based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 4.7 clearances per game in Premier League football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from the back after completing 81.2% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Kenilworth Road will run out at the end of this campaign which could open the door for the Villans to land him on a free transfer in the summer.

Osho is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when needed and can play his way out from inside his half.
The English talent can even use his strong 1.85m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. He is primarily a centre-back but can also play as a right-back or as a defensive midfielder if needed.
Osho would add more bite and steel to Aston Villa‘s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting place in Unai Emery’s first team next season. Plus, the English sensation has now got some Premier League experience under his belt and won’t take much time to settle into life at Villa Park.
Osho is currently on an expiring contract at Luton which means that he would be well worth the fight as Emery could potentially sign him on a free transfer in the summer.
