According to Florian Plettenberg, both Aston Villa and Chelsea have submitted proposals to Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier.
It had previously been reported that Chelsea, among a number of other Premier League clubs, were keen to sign Beier this summer. However, recently, Serie A side Juventus looked to propel themselves into pole position for the German’s signature, with the club’s main target, Karim Adeyemi, proving too expensive.
Nevertheless, in the last 48 hours, Chelsea and Aston Villa have attempted to push towards a potential deal by submitting personal terms to the striker.
Regardless, it is understood that the 21-year-old has yet to agree to terms with either club verbally. As well as this, Hoffenheim have yet to enter negotiations with any club regarding Beier this summer.
Bayer Leverkusen are also said to still be in the race to sign the striker, along with two other European sides, one of which is expected to be Juventus. Therefore, Beier’s future is currently up in the air, but a final decision on where he will be plying his trade next season should be made over the next two weeks.
As stated in the report, Beier’s €30 million release clause is still active, but Hoffenheim could be tempted to agree on a lower fee.
