Big-spending Chelsea are reportedly lining up Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as their primary transfer focus for the remainder of the summer window.

The Blues have already hit the ground running this summer with the signings of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Jamie Gittens - but their recruitment drive appears far from over.

According to The Sun, Rogers is the latest rising star on Chelsea’s radar, continuing the club’s recent trend of investing heavily in elite young prospects.

The England international is said to carry a hefty price tag of around £80 million, but the London club are unlikely to be deterred given Rogers' potential and outstanding form last season for the Villans.

Rogers ended last season with a standout contribution of 14 goals and 13 assists across all competitions for the Midlanders.

Chelsea are reportedly keen to upgrade on Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling, and they currently also have Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk out banned.

Villa are understood to be very reluctant to let Rogers leave, but a move to the new Club World Cup champions could interest a player who came through Man City's academy ranks under Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, alongside players such as Cole Palmer and Delap.

It should be noted that Rogers' is tied down on a long-term contract at Villa, which runs until June 2030.
