According to Le Parisien, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are both interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler (26).

Soler arrived at PSG from Valencia for just under €20m in the summer of 2022. In his debut season at the Parc des Princes, he featured 38 times, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists. It was thought that Luis Enrique’s arrival as manager would allow him to build on that this campaign, given that the Spanish manager picked Soler in his 2022 World Cup squad. However, Soler’s role has become more peripheral, playing just 110 minutes so far this campaign.

As reported by Le Parisien, Enrique believes that there is a lack of creativity in the midfield, and he is looking to add a new element. However, that will only happen if there is a departure in midfield. Soler could be the man to make way. The Spain international is open to a departure. During the recent international break, Soler returned to Valencia, sparking rumours of a return, however, the La Liga side would only be able to pay part of his salary.

However, Aston Villa and Brighton would be able to pay all of Soler’s salary should a move in January take form. The Premier League side are interested in the PSG midfielder, who could be looking for a way out of the club.
