Arturo Vidal will be an Inter player but Inter president Steven Zhang wants one player to be sold before the deal to sign Vidal is finalised according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Inter have agreed to pay Barcelona a small fee of €1 million plus add-ons for the Chilean national team player who was previously expected to terminate his contract with Barcelona and join Inter on a free transfer. Vidal has already emptied his locker and is now waiting to become an Inter player.
The reasons Zhang wants a player to be sold before welcoming Vidal to the club are Inter’s squad is currently rather large and another reason is Inter need to keep their wage bill under control.
Diego Godin’s seemingly imminent departure for Cagliari could be enough for Vidal’s arrival to be finalised.
The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that Ivan Perisic could be on his way out of Inter with several Bundesliga clubs having sparked an interest in signing him. Inter continue to demand €15 million for him.
