On Smith Rowe, Tomiyasu, Vieira fitness

“They were reintegrated into training this week. They’re in different phases but some will be in the squad tomorrow.”

On whether Tierney could start

“He played 15-20 minutes last weekend and did really well, he’s in perfect condition now and he is ready to go.”

On Tierney being linked with a move to Man City

“No and you know I’m not going to  be commenting on individual cases.”

On Reiss Nelson’s injury

“He felt something in training and the doctor came with bad news. Hopefully he will be back soon.”

“It’s a long time since that happened. I cannot go back each time there is a series. I have made my comments on that. What has been done has to defend the club and put it in the best possible position.

“Auba is an exceptional player. He did so much for us.

“I hope he gets a good reception (if he comes back) because I think he deserves that.

On if Arsenal could make more signings

“We are still needing to finalise the squad in the way we want. If we can add something, great. But we still have to find some solutions for certain players to get them game time because it will be difficult.”

On Saliba’s start and his future

“The players really like him because he’s so willing to be talked through anything, be coached and his aim is to get better.

“We will address [his contract situation]. Edu and the board will be addressing all the issues that you can possibly face. We want players who will be happy here.”
