Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has signed Shad Forsythe, according to Bild.
The 49-year-old American has left his role at Arsenal and will become BVB’s Head of Performance.
Forsythe also works with the German national team after being brought to the DFB by Jürgen Klinsmann. The American was an important factor in Germany’s 2014 World Cup win under Joachim Löw. The fitness coach continues to work with the national team under Hansi Flick.
“We’re very happy that we were able to convince Shad. With his great expertise and experience, he will be an asset to us,” said Kehl.
Following the dismissal of Marco Rose in May, assistant coaches Alexander Zickler and René Marić left the club, as did athletic trainer Patrick Eibenberger. Forsythe could be a huge boost for Borussia Dortmund, who last season led the table for injuries.
Frank Zöllner (VfL Bochum) and Michael Becker (Hertha BSC) will also join Borussia Dortmund as physiotherapists.
